Panhellenic group to honor scholarship recipients

Topeka Alumnae Panhellenic Council will honor its 2008 scholarship recipients at 10 a.m. April 19 at the Kansas Association for Justice Foundation, 719 S.W. Van Buren.

Area high school women to be honored are Stacie Cook, Rossville High School; Elaine Davis, Seaman High School; Michelle Letourneau, Hayden High School; Sarah Mayer, Hayden High School; Amanda Sewell, Shawnee Heights High School; Haley Shore, Topeka West High School; Cara Smith, Topeka High School; and Jaimie Tosh, Silver Lake High School.

College scholarship recipients are Cori Ast, Alpha Chi Omega at The University of Kansas, and Kaitlin Marsh, Alpha Phi at Washburn University. Both are Washburn Rural graduates.

The Sisters in the Spotlight award will be presented to Kari Presley, of Kappa Delta, and Nancy Vaughn, of Delta Zeta.

Since 1948, Topeka Panhellenic has presented more than $129,000 in scholarships to more than 470 Topeka-area women. Scholarships are funded by contributions made from alumnae members of sororities living in the Topeka area. Of the 26 national sororities, 10 are represented on the Topeka council.
