New scholarship program is nuclear

COVERT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Nuclear energy could power the next business boom in West Michigan.

Monday, Congressman Fred Upton will join administrators from both AEP and the Palisades Nuclear Plant to announce a new scholarship program.

It will help boost employment at both the Cook and Palisades plants.

Congressman Upton will also talk about a new national energy initiative that his campaign says will create tens of thousands of high-paying jobs.

We’ll be talking live Tuesday morning with Congressman Upton and State Senator Mark Schauer about this initiative and energy issues facing the country.
